The Scottish Thistle served as the "green room" for studio executives and celebrities on May 1, 2009, media day for Disney’s upcoming holiday release A Christmas Carol. The day brought out stars Jim Carrey (pictured) and Gary Oldham, who voiced some of the characters, as well as Director Robert Zemeckis (Forest Gump). The day launched "A Christmas Carol Train Tour" which will travel to 50 cities to promote the movie. |

Dean McCormick’s Scottish Thistle played a part in ESPN’s Hard Knocks, when the show chartered a train to take the Dallas Cowboys from their training site in Oxnard, California to San Diego for a game with the Chargers. Following the consist of Amtrak cars was the Silver Lariat and the Scottish Thistle bringing up the markers. Dallas Cowboy owner and general manager, Jerry Jones, his sons, Stephen and Jerry Jr. , who are vice presidents in the Cowboy’s organization, and members of the coaching staff rode aboard the Thistle. |
